Zahari Stoyanov (1850–1889) was a Bulgarian revolutionary, writer, and public figure of the Bulgarian National Revival. He actively participated in the April Uprising of 1876 and later became one of its most important chroniclers. Stoyanov is best known for his documentary work Notes on the Bulgarian Uprisings, which preserves firsthand accounts of the struggle for liberation. His writings played a vital role in shaping Bulgaria’s historical memory and national identity.
