Description
Hadji Dimitar (1840–1868) was a Bulgarian revolutionary and national hero who fought against Ottoman rule. He is best known for leading a rebel detachment together with Stefan Karadzha in 1868. Severely wounded in battle, Hadji Dimitar became a symbol of courage, sacrifice, and devotion to Bulgaria’s freedom. His heroism was later immortalized in Bulgarian literature and folklore.
