Print preparation checklist

Scale the model so largest dimension matches your intended final size (e.g., 150–200 mm height for wall hook).

Apply transforms / freeze modifiers in your 3D app before export.

Export as Binary STL for smaller, faster uploads.

If file is extremely large, decimate carefully but keep relief detail intact (target ≥ 30k triangles for small prints).

Orient for printing: for resin, angle ~10–25° so detailed front faces are not directly flat to build plate; for FDM, orient so hook curve is supported and the decorative face has minimal support contact.

Check minimum feature thickness (see below) and thicken any filigree below limits.

SLA / MSLA / DLP (resin) — best for fine fur and monocle detail.

Layer height: 25–50 µm.

Supports: tree supports with small touchpoints under back of head, underside of hook and inner neck; avoid supports on main ornamental face.

Hollowing: optional — hollow to 2–3 mm shell with at least one 3–4 mm drainage hole if >120 mm tall.

FDM (FFF) — possible but expect loss of very fine detail.

Nozzle: 0.25–0.4 mm. Layer height 0.10–0.15 mm for best detail.

Use tree supports or custom support blockers so ornaments remain clean. Add a brim/raft for adhesion if needed.
