So do you, mister. So do you
And thus we realised just how much of a badass Uhura really was.
The Mirror Universe is one of the most popular concepts in Star Trek, now having been referenced in at least three of the series. In the Original Series, Kirk, Scotty, McCoy and Uhura were swapped with their Mirror Universe counterparts due to a transporter accident, coming face to face with the totalitarian Terran Empire and discovering just how much cooler Spock looks with that beard. In Deep Space Nine, a fluctuation in the Bajoran wormhole threw Bashir and Kira into the same universe, where, thanks to Spock's kick for peace, Terrans were now brutally enslaved by the Klingons and Cardassians. In Enterprise, an entire two-part episode was set in the Mirror Universe, showing exactly what happened to the USS Defiant (the original Constitution-class ship, lost in the interspace in 'The Tholian Web') and ended with Mirror Hoshi assassinating Mirror Archer and becoming Empress.
We don't speak of Discovery. It was terrible and unworthy of the name Star Trek.
Anyway, crewmembers of the ISS Enterprise generally carried two pieces of equipment with them at all times: the Agonizer (which I've also made and will be posting very soon) and their dagger. There have been SO many different versions of the dagger made over the years, and this is kind of my interpretation of it (Uhura's dagger, the one she almost stuck into Sulu, was just plain silver). The version in the photo features a very nice antique brass-finish filament I found for the pommel and crossguard (eSun Metal Antique Silver, if you're interested), silver for the blade and body of the handle and a very nice metallic black for the grips and the scabbard. The scabbard has an attached ring to slip a belt through it, although, as always, I do recommend being as gentle as you can. It is a 3D printed model after all, and not a functional weapon.
For legal reasons, I have to emphasise that: THIS IS NOT A FUNCTIONAL WEAPON, nor is it intended to be one. It is solely for use as a costume accessory and ornament, and I take no responsibility whatsoever if it's used for any purpose other than those stated here. Placing an order constitutes acceptance of this disclaimer.
So print yours today. Or your crew might just assassinate you one day...
