Description
Think of the great movie weapons of all time. Luke Skywalker's lightsabre, Batman's Batarang, Captain Kirk's Type II Hand-Phaser, Ellen Ripley's highly unwieldy but undeniably cool Pulse Rifle/Flamethrower combination.... the list goes on. But there's one which, a lot of the time, is unfairly forgotten.....

Back in the old days, before the virulent scourge of Political Correctness, there was something we used to call 'comedy'. One of the greatest examples of said comedy, popular around the world and still just as funny today as then were the great Monty Python; John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam and the now sadly deceased but still funnier than most modern comedians Graham Chapman. Two of the greatest comedy movies ever made were Life of Brian (an affectionately ribbing retelling of the story of Jesus, through the eyes of Brian of Nazareth) and Monty Python & The Holy Grail, a Python'ised version of the story of King Arthur.

The weapon of which we speak is not the sword of the Black Knight, or the cutting words of the Knights Who Say 'Neeeeh!'. I speak, of course, of the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, one of the sacred relics Brother Maynard carries, and which was used to vanquish the terrible Killer Bunny of the Cave of Ceyr Banogh. And now, you too can carry your own Sacred Relic with you.

This is, I'll be honest, one I've been ACHING to do for ages but I've never really worked out until now how to make it. It was an absolute cast-iron B*****D to design and very fiddly to put together but I'm REALLY pleased with it, so now you, my fellow Python fan, can enjoy it too!

You'll need to find some small (3mm) stick on fake gems to attach to the little roundels around the top half, and on the Holy Pin. You can pick these up very cheaply from various craft suppliers, or you can make your own with resin etc. They're a bit fiddly to stick in but they shouldn't be that hard. And then you too can wield the mighty Holy Hand Grenade in the name of Our Lord...

If you don't have a 3D printer but you'd really like one of these please send me a DM and we can arrange for me to produce one for you, or check out my Numonday store:
